Class P3 having fun with their teacher

Would all volunteers who are coming in 2010 ensure that they re- download the documents as many have been updated and there will be new information that would be helpful for you to have. It's also a good idea to print out the documents to bring them with you when you come to us.

Please read all the documents carefully before you book to come.

We have tried to think of everything you need to know and included it in various places on this website and in these documents which are designed to give you as much information as possible. They will probably answer all your questions, but if after reading them you still have questions  please email Moses Owino using his mail address on the Contact Page. He will gladly help you. The internet is so slow that it can take Moses ages just to answer one email, so please read before you ask.

How to make a Donation to the Kyabirwa School Project

We recommend that anyone wishing to fundraise for a particular project they would like to help us with, should discuss it with Moses and Robinah just in case someone else is already raising money it. It's probable that no-one will be, or that even if they are it your help will still be good if the amount needed is large. As we need so much, there are sure to be other things we badly need so you will be able to fund raise for something worthwhile and hopefully see it in place during your time with us. You may donate via Western Union or also transfer money to the 3 signatory Project Committee bank account - please, just ask Moses for details.

Girls' Health and Hygiene Initiative

We would be very grateful if you would remember to bring packs of sanitary pads with you and give them to Robinah the Head Mistress. The pads will enable the girls to attend school instead of missing a 25% of their education due to menstruation. Also needed is paracetamol for these times. These young women suffer in exactly the same way as their counterparts in developed countries do, but they don't have the money to buy drugs to relieve it. Sanitary Pads don't weigh much so won't use up much of your luggage allowance.  This is all part of our drive to promote gender equality. Thank you.
